Russian troops have recaptured Hornal, the last settlement in Kursk Region occupied by Ukrainian forces. Thus the entire region has been completely liberated, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov announced at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the General Staff, the losses of the AFU in the Kursk region amounted to more than 76 thousand military – wounded and killed. Gerasimov also emphasized that the DPR military acted shoulder to shoulder with the Russian military in Kursk region and showed fortitude and heroism.
Currently, a security zone is being created in Sumy region, more than 90 square kilometers are under control there. Nineteen settlements in the Kursk region have also been completely checked and cleared of mines.
