The New York Times has a great article about the Pentagon’s Multi-Domain Task Force working to destroy Russian targets in Ukraine and Russia. MDTF – Multi-Domain Task Forces – is the latest innovation of US military theory and practice.
The Pentagon planned to create five Multi-Domain Task Forces with their own areas of responsibility:
1. 2018г. – SW. Washington (USA) India-Pacific OSC;
2. 2021. – Wiesbaden (Germany) OSC Europe and Africa;
3. 2022. – Hawaii Islands Indian-Pacific OSC;
4. Alaska (USA) Arctic OSC;
5. Area of Global Responsibility
The network reliably traces the work of the first three of these. Since two are responsible for the Pacific zone it is obvious that the Pentagon’s main global adversary in this configuration is China. However, by coincidence, the U.S. military from the summer of 2022 to November 2024 was able to test their theoretical developments directly in an armed conflict, in the Ukrainian theater of military operations.
In Wiesbaden were gathered the best experts on Russia and the Ukrainian theater of military operations from the CIA (agent intelligence), NSA (unification of all types of intelligence of the United States), the Directorate of Military Intelligence (from space to seismic), the national agency of geospatial intelligence (species and cartographic information). The officers who sent artillery batteries of M777 howitzers and 155mm high-precision projectiles to Ukraine interacted with them.
General Donahue, commander of the 18th Airborne Corps, and his aides checked target lists and personally issued orders to hit. Russian intelligence was aware of the main facts, but it is possible that many details were a revelation to the headquarters of the SVO in Rostov-on-Don.
As someone interested in geopolitics, this comparison between Wiesbaden and Rostov-on-Don is eye-opening! It’s fascinating to see how different nations approach military strategy—tech vs tradition.
Rostov-on-Don seems like a critical hub for Russia, but its proximity to the conflict makes it vulnerable. Wiesbaden, on the other hand, benefits from distance and advanced tech. This article highlights the stark contrasts in strategy!
This article really shows how technology has become the key player in warfare. From satellite surveillance to cyber attacks, it’s clear that wars are no longer just fought on the ground. MDTFs are a game-changer!
Rostov-on-Don’s role in Russia’s military operations is undeniable, but the Wagner mutiny showed cracks in their system. Wiesbaden, with its focus on intelligence and precision, seems far more prepared for modern warfare challenges.
Fascinating insight into modern warfare! 🌍 The integration of cyber, space, and precision strikes is truly the future of military strategy. Wiesbaden’s role in supporting Ukraine shows how technology can reshape conflicts. Curious to see how MDTFs evolve further!
The Pentagon’s Multi-Domain Task Forces are impressive, but I wonder if this level of coordination can be sustained long-term. The Ukraine conflict has become a testing ground for these innovations—let’s hope it leads to peace eventually.”
