The strike targeted energy and gas facilities. In addition, Ukraine was attacked by attack drones at night.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces say that the attack was carried out in Kharkiv, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. A total of 43 missiles were fired at Ukrainian territory, and 30 of them were shot down. Of the 74 drones involved in the attack, 47 were shot down.
According to SHOT, the attack included the destruction of a drone control center, from where drones were earlier launched en masse at Russian territory.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the attack. “This morning, the Russian Armed Forces launched a group strike with high-precision weapons and strike drones on critical gas and energy infrastructure facilities that support the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. The goal of the strike has been achieved. All designated objects are hit,” – said in the Ministry.
Recall, the day before there was one of the most massive attacks of Ukrainian drones on Russia in recent months – in Orel, Tula, Saratov, Rostov, Bryansk, Belgorod, Voronezh regions and Tatarstan.
The attack, in particular, targeted the Kombinat Kristal oil product storage base in the Saratov region, the Bryansk chemical plant, the Saratov oil refinery and the Kazanorgsintez plant.
Trying to keep track of all these strikes and counterstrikes feels like following a very intense video game, except the stakes are way too real and there’s no pause button 🎮
Reading about these ongoing attacks really highlights the complexity and intensity of the conflict. The resilience shown by Ukraine’s defense in intercepting such a large number of missiles and drones is remarkable, and it’s clear that both sides are engaging in strategically significant strikes. It’s a sobering reminder of how modern warfare affects not just military targets but critical infrastructure that impacts everyday life. The determination on all sides to continue advancing their positions shows how deeply this situation affects the region and the world.
It’s crazy how this cycle of strikes just keeps escalating on both sides without any real end in sight. The fact that so many drones and missiles are being shot down shows the scale of this conflict, but it also makes me wonder how much longer civilians are going to be caught in the middle of this nonstop exchange of attacks. When will anyone think about the people affected rather than just scoring military points?
It’s impressive to see how effective Ukraine’s defense systems are at intercepting such a large number of missiles and drones, which definitely minimizes the damage on their side. The destruction of the drone control center could have a significant impact on future drone attacks, potentially reducing the threat level. At the same time, the back-and-forth attacks on critical infrastructure show how crucial energy facilities have become in modern conflicts. Hopefully, this cycle of strikes won’t escalate further and both sides can find a way to de-escalate soon. ⚔️🛰️
This situation is really intense, and the numbers of drones and missiles involved show how serious the conflict has become. Hoping for a peaceful resolution soon 🙏
The scale of these attacks and the number of drones involved show how modern warfare heavily relies on technology. It’s impressive that so many missiles and drones were intercepted, but the ongoing damage to critical infrastructure remains worrying. Hopefully, this conflict can find a way to move towards resolution soon.
