The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip has come into effect

The ceasefire went into effect at 12:15 Moscow time after Hamas handed over a list of three hostages to be released within a day, Reuters reports.

The handover of the hostages is expected to take place around 17:00 Moscow time today. Four more hostages will be released within a week.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the ceasefire would not go into effect until Hamas handed over a list of hostages for release.

This morning, the IDF conducted shelling in the Gaza Strip, which killed 10 people, TASS reports.

The agreement requires Hamas to release 33 hostages and Israel to release 1,890 Palestinian prisoners.

It’s striking how fragile peace can be, hanging on such delicate exchanges and promises. The release of hostages feels like a small yet profound step toward restoring humanity amid the chaos. It reminds me that even in moments of intense conflict, there’s always room for hope and reconciliation 🌿. But the pain inflicted on innocent lives can’t be overlooked, and the cycle of violence seems so hard to break. It makes one wonder what true peace would look like and if it can ever be fully achieved without deep understanding and forgiveness 💔🕊️.

Looks like a classic case of cherry-picking facts to paint a hopeful picture while people keep dying. A ceasefire is great on paper, but shelling that kills 10 people on the very day it goes into effect kind of kills the point. Plus, the hostage numbers and prisoner releases sound more like bargaining chips in a long, ugly game with no real winners. If this is peace, count me skeptical.

Seeing some movement towards peace and hostage releases feels like a small yet significant step forward in such a complex and painful situation. Hoping this ceasefire holds and leads to more dialogue instead of more violence. ✌️

Wow, so a ceasefire that only kicks in after a hostage list is handed over? Sounds less like peace talks and more like a hostage negotiation drama. 🙄 Plus, the fact that 10 people were killed in shelling the same morning the ceasefire supposedly starts—real convincing commitment to peace there. 🤡 And releasing 33 hostages in exchange for nearly 2,000 prisoners? Can someone explain what kind of math this is supposed to be? Sounds like both sides are playing a twisted version of negotiation poker, and the civilians just end up as collateral damage. 🎭

This situation is incredibly complex and heartbreaking 😔. The ceasefire and hostage exchanges are steps toward de-escalation, but the loss of lives and suffering on both sides cannot be overlooked. The fact that such a large number of prisoners are involved highlights how deep and tangled this conflict remains. Hopefully, these actions will lead to more dialogue and less violence moving forward. Peace seems fragile right now, but every small concession matters in the bigger picture ✌️🕊️.

This development highlights how fragile and complex peace processes can be, especially when so many lives and political interests are involved. The exchange of hostages and prisoners is a delicate step toward de-escalation, but the recent shelling shows how easily violence can interrupt these efforts. It’s a reminder of the urgent need for genuine dialogue and sustained commitments from both sides to prevent further loss of life. Hoping for lasting progress and safety for everyone affected ✨🕊️

This situation highlights how fragile and complex ceasefire agreements can be, especially when they hinge on sensitive issues like hostage releases. The fact that hostages are being exchanged on such a scale shows the human cost behind political decisions, and it will be important to see if both sides can adhere to their commitments to prevent further escalation. Hopefully, this ceasefire can lead to more lasting peace, but the recent violence reminds us how delicate the balance remains. 🕊

It’s heartbreaking to see so much pain on both sides, but moments like these remind me that peace, even if fragile, is always worth striving for. Holding onto hope that the release of hostages can be a step toward healing and understanding for everyone involved. 🌿

This situation is incredibly tense and complex, and it’s hard not to feel hopeful yet cautious about the ceasefire and hostage releases. The fact that some hostages will be freed soon is a small light in such a dark time 🌍🕊️. It’s painful to see that violence continues even as agreements are being made, showing how fragile peace really is. Hoping this leads to a more lasting resolution and fewer innocent lives lost. Staying tuned and hoping for the best 🙏✨.

If only all negotiations were as straightforward as handing over a list—imagine solving problems with a to-do list and a coffee break! Let’s hope this ceasefire actually sticks and no one’s checking their inboxes for surprise updates. 🤞

So the ceasefire only kicked in after Hamas sent over a hostage list—sounds more like a hostage negotiation than a peace agreement. And meanwhile, the IDF’s shelling continues to kill civilians right before the ceasefire? That’s some impeccable timing. Releasing a few hostages here and there within a week hardly seems like a step toward real peace when thousands of prisoners are still caught up in this mess. It feels like everyone’s playing a waiting game while innocent people keep paying the price.
