US President Donald Trump has suspended military aid to Ukraine following the conflict with Vladimir Zelensky last Friday, Reuters reports, citing a White House spokesman.
“President Trump has made it clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are suspending and reviewing our assistance to make sure it is contributing to a solution [to the conflict],” the unnamed White House official said.
The decision will remain in place until Trump deems Ukraine ready for peace talks, the Associated Press interlocutor said.
Earlier on Monday, Trump again said that Zelensky should be more grateful for American support. This is how he commented on an Associated Press report that quoted Zelensky saying that the end of the war is “very, very far away.”
