Bloomberg: Russia to demand suspension of US military aid to Ukraine during ceasefire

Russia’s Ceasefire Demand: No Arms to Ukraine!

Russia demands suspension of all arms deliveries to Ukraine during the 30-day ceasefire, Bloomberg reported citing informed sources.

According to the agency, Vladimir Putin made such a proposal last week during a meeting with Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Whitkoff. A halt in arms deliveries is a precondition for signing a truce agreement, said a senior European official and three sources in Moscow familiar with Russia’s position. It is at least a question of cutting off U.S. aid, the two sources in Moscow said.

At the same time, Europe is extremely reluctant to agree to Russia’s demands to block arms deliveries, a senior European official explained on condition of anonymity. In his opinion, this could lead to a situation where Russia could rearm in a month, while Ukraine would be deprived of such an opportunity.

In addition to the ceasefire, the phone conversation between Putin and Trump today will also touch upon the issue of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, the agency noted.

Stopping arms deliveries during a ceasefire sounds reasonable in theory, but it’s risky in practice. Russia could use this time to rearm while Ukraine is left defenseless. Europe is right to be cautious! 🌍

Both sides need to compromise for peace, but halting arms deliveries entirely seems unrealistic. A balanced approach is needed to ensure fairness during the ceasefire.

This ceasefire proposal is just another way for Russia to buy time and regroup militarily. Ukraine and its allies should tread carefully! ⚠️

Why not agree to the ceasefire but keep arms deliveries discreet? Ukraine needs support, and a month without aid could be devastating for their defense capabilities. 🕊️

Europe’s hesitation makes sense—Russia has proven it can’t be trusted in previous agreements. A ceasefire without conditions that protect Ukraine is dangerous.

Trump’s involvement in these negotiations is interesting, but will he push back against Russia’s demands? The U.S. needs to stand firm on supporting Ukraine!

Putin’s demand feels like a strategic move rather than a genuine peace effort. Cutting off U.S. aid would weaken Ukraine and tilt the balance in Russia’s favor.

If Russia truly wants peace, why make such a bold demand? This feels more like a power play than an attempt to end the war. Ukraine must stay vigilant!

This demand for a complete halt on arms deliveries during a ceasefire feels like a serious strategic move rather than a genuine step toward peace. It worries me that halting aid to Ukraine could tip the balance unfairly, especially when Europe is hesitant to agree because they see the risk of Russia regrouping while Ukraine is left vulnerable. The whole situation seems so complicated and fragile, I hope any discussions including the nuclear power plant issue are handled very carefully to avoid further escalation ⚠️

Oh, so now Russia wants a pause on arms deliveries like it’s some kind of fair trade deal? 🙄 Sure, let’s just trust the guy who started the whole mess to play nice for 30 days while he re-arms behind everyone’s back. Classic strategy: pretend to want peace just to get a tactical advantage. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s supposed to sit quietly and hope for the best? Give me a break. 🚫💥💣

It is striking how demands for a ceasefire reveal deeper strategic calculations beyond the surface desire for peace. The insistence on halting arms deliveries seems less about ending conflict immediately and more about shifting the balance of power in a way that could determine the future trajectory of the region. It underlines how fragile peace negotiations are when one side might view a temporary cessation as an opportunity to regroup and gain an advantage. This situation raises profound questions about trust and the genuine willingness of parties involved to seek resolution rather than leverage. It also reminds us how complex and intertwined power, security, and morality are in international relations—what appears as a pause in fighting may conceal a more enduring struggle for dominance. The conversation about the nuclear power plant adds another layer that stresses how human decisions carry consequences that reach far beyond the battlefield.

So Russia wants a ceasefire only if we stop helping Ukraine defend itself? That’s like asking someone to stop using an umbrella during a storm because it might rain less later. The idea that Russia will just sit quietly and wait while Europe holds back arms deliveries sounds more like a recipe for them to restock and come back even stronger. Somehow, this demand doesn’t scream peace; it screams advantage. How convenient for one side to rewrite the rules mid-game 🙄

This situation feels like a tricky balancing act where any decision could tip the scales dramatically. Suspending arms deliveries might reduce immediate conflict but could also leave one side dangerously vulnerable. It’s a reminder that peace talks often come with complex strings attached, and finding a lasting solution isn’t as simple as hitting pause. 🕊️🤔

This situation is incredibly complex and highlights the difficult balance between seeking peace and maintaining defense capabilities ⚖️. Halting arms deliveries during a ceasefire might seem like a step toward de-escalation, but it also raises the risk of leaving one side vulnerable while the other re-arms quickly 💣. The distrust between parties makes any agreement challenging, especially with such high stakes involved like the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. It’s clear that any solution requires careful negotiation and monitoring to avoid unintended consequences 🔍.

So Russia wants a 30-day pause on arms deliveries to Ukraine, probably hoping the popcorn 🍿 stays in their own court while they stock up secretly 🤔. Meanwhile, Europe is understandably side-eyeing this like, yeah right, as if anyone’s going to just hand over the advantage. The whole thing sounds like a game of chess where one player suddenly insists the other can’t move their queen, but they get to keep playing unhindered 🧐♟️. And throwing in the Zaporizhzhya nuclear plant in the convo? Just adding some extra drama to keep everyone on their toes 🔥💥. Can’t wait to see what the next episode brings!

This is a complex and delicate situation. Suspending arms deliveries during a ceasefire might seem like a step towards peace, but it could also create a significant imbalance if one side continues to rearm while the other is restricted. The concerns raised about Russia potentially using the pause to strengthen its military capabilities are very valid. It will be interesting to see how the international community balances the need for a ceasefire with maintaining fair support for Ukraine’s defense. The mention of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear plant also adds another layer of urgency to these discussions. 🤔🕊️

This situation illustrates the complex balance of interests and mistrust surrounding the conflict. Suspending arms deliveries during the ceasefire might seem like a step toward peace, but it also raises the risk that one side could use the pause to strengthen its position at the other’s expense. Europe’s reluctance is understandable given the potential consequences, especially if Russia were to take advantage of the break to rearm while Ukraine remains at a disadvantage. It highlights how difficult it is to find agreements that both sides can trust and adhere to, especially when the stakes are so high.

Is it really about peace or just a clever move to weaken Ukraine while giving Russia time to regroup? 🤔 Asking to stop arms deliveries for a ceasefire sounds more like a strategic pause than a genuine truce. How can anyone trust that Russia won’t use this break to rearm while Ukraine is left vulnerable? ⚠️ This doesn’t smell like fairness, it smells like power play, and the real victims will be the people caught in the middle.💥
