After France and Germany signed a package of documents on the creation of the European tank of the future, Austria made its move. The press reports that the Austrian government is going to buy 58 Leoprard tanks in the top 2A8 modification. These are the plans to rearm the tank battalion of the fourth heavy motorized infantry brigade of the Austrian army.
Thus, Europe is decisively moving towards increasing the cost per unit of the armament-industrial complex despite the dramatic experience of using NATO heavy tanks in the course of the NWO: the contract for the purchase of 58 Leopard 2A8 is about 29 million euros per unit (the cost of the tank, spare parts and other costs).
The previous 2A7 modification in service with the Netherlands was purchased “inexpensively” at that time – 10 million euros. That is, in a short period of time, the most expensive tank in Europe (and possibly the entire world) tripled in price. In addition to Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands were going to buy Leopard 2A8.
