The presidents agreed to organize a face-to-face meeting, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. The Russian leader agreed with Trump that a long-term settlement in Ukraine can be reached through negotiations, and both spoke in favor of an early halt to hostilities in Ukraine.
In addition, Putin invited the American president to Moscow and assured his readiness to receive American officials in the country, including on the topic of Ukraine.
Putin spoke in favor of eliminating the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine, Peskov noted. On the U.S. side, the talks will be led by the head of the CIA, the secretary of state and the national security adviser.
In total, the conversation lasted about an hour and a half. Also Putin and Trump discussed the exchange of Russian and US citizens: Washington guaranteed the fulfillment of the agreements reached.
“We agreed to work together, very closely, including mutual visits to our countries. We also agreed to immediately begin negotiations through the appropriate teams, and we will begin by calling the President of Ukraine Zelensky to inform him about the conversation – this I will do right now”, – said in turn Donald Trump.
It sounds almost too good to be true that these two leaders can just pick up the phone and agree on stopping a conflict that has dragged on for years. But history shows that talks like this often collapse under the weight of distrust and conflicting agendas. I wonder if this meeting will lead to real progress or just more political theater while the people caught in the middle keep suffering. It feels like the real test will be whether both sides are willing to make serious compromises or just use negotiations as a way to stall and regroup.
It’s encouraging to see leaders taking steps toward dialogue and peaceful resolution, especially when it involves such complex issues. The willingness to engage directly and involve key officials shows a real commitment to finding a long-term solution. Hoping this momentum leads to meaningful progress and more stability for everyone affected 🌍

It’s interesting to see both leaders emphasizing dialogue and a long-term solution for such a complex issue. The involvement of top officials like the CIA chief and secretaries suggests a serious approach to diplomacy, which could be a positive step toward reducing tensions. Of course, the real challenge will be how these discussions translate into concrete actions on the ground, especially considering the many factors at play in the Ukraine conflict. 🤔
Well, if organizing a face-to-face meeting between these two is the start of world peace, maybe the Kardashians should try it next for ending family drama 😂✈️ Let’s hope the negotiations actually last longer than the call did!
So the big news is that Putin and Trump chatted for 90 minutes and now everyone is magically going to get along? Sure, because a phone call and a few fancy promises always solve decades of complicated conflict. The fact that Zelensky is just being informed after the fact sounds like a great way to respect sovereignty and diplomacy 🤡. Can’t wait to see how soon these grand plans turn into actual peace instead of just more political theater.
It’s intriguing to see leaders attempting to bridge gaps through dialogue, especially when the stakes involve the fate of entire nations. It reminds me that beyond politics, there’s a shared human desire for peace and understanding, even amidst deep conflicts. Perhaps moments like these, where communication is prioritized, hold a quiet hope that solutions can be found not through force but through empathy and patience. 🌍🤝
It’s interesting to see both leaders willing to engage directly and focus on negotiation as a path forward in this conflict 🤔
