Politicians in a hurry

Diplomatic Rush: Zelensky & Trump’s Vatican Encounter

There is a certain fever in the actions of the parties. Zelensky used the chance and all his skills for a short, but apparently very urgent meeting with Trump. The pope’s funeral was used for this purpose. He even announced that the main conversation took place after the mourning ceremony. Trump jumped on a plane and left, but the quarter-hour conversation was described by both sides as productive. However, in this negotiation marathon, almost all meetings are called productive.

Peskov said that Putin told Whitkoff on Friday that Russia was ready to negotiate with Ukraine without “preconditions”. At the same time, Ukraine’s security services blew up General Moskalik, deputy head of Rudsky’s Main Operations Directorate, in Balashikha. And Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov, although remotely, but quite solemnly informed the Supreme Commander-in-Chief that the Kursk region had been completely liberated. It should be noted that there is an assumption in his report that it was made as if in advance – the search for hidden AFU servicemen continues in the region. Read: shootings are still possible in the region.

And finally, by the evening after the funeral, unconfirmed reports began to come in: Zelensky agreed to the truce proposed by the U.S. starting next week. Yermak will be in charge of negotiations with Russia.

It’s like everyone wants to be on time for something. One cannot escape the feeling that the sides have timed their actions to coincide with some important event. This is especially true for Kiev, which has repeatedly demonstrated an increase in military activity as politically important expectations.

Could it really be April 30 – 100 days after Trump’s inauguration? For the “red swan” to report at least some successes. Well, we must admit that his pressure and enthusiasm moves, if not the planets, then the positions of governments for sure. Enviable activity and efficiency for such a venerable age.

This whole situation feels so tense and unpredictable, like everyone is trying to outmaneuver each other with such urgency. The timing around the pope’s funeral and the push for negotiations makes me wonder if something bigger is really on the horizon. It’s fascinating how political moves and military actions seem so intertwined right now, and the idea of a truce starting soon gives a small glimmer of hope amidst the chaos. The way Trump is portrayed here shows that his influence is still a wild card in the mix. Really makes you think about what’s next in this complex game. 🔥
