The only Russian official Vladimir Zelensky is willing to talk to is Vladimir Putin, and only after Ukraine has agreed on a common plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict with Donald Trump and European leaders.
Zelensky added that Trump gave him his personal phone number and said he could call him anytime.
Ukraine will have to increase its army if the United States stops supporting the North Atlantic Alliance, Zelensky also said.
“To be quite honest, the US never saw us in NATO. They were just talking about it. But they didn’t really want us to join,” the Ukrainian president said.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine will have to double the size of its army if it does not get NATO membership. “If we do not join NATO, we will create our own NATO in Ukraine,” he concluded.
